Dyslexia Assessments

Pre-16 Specialist Assessor

Your child may experience difficulties with either:

  • Reading
  • Spelling
  • Writing
  • Memory
  • Organisation

If your child exhibits some or all these signs, then it is advisable for your child to be assessed. This will show a full picture of their strengths and weakness. Their learning style will be revealed and recommendations in the report will allow future support to be as effective as possible.

LET’S TALK

Assessment: What to expect

Prior to the assessment, your child will need an eye test if they have not had one in the last 6 months.
A questionnaire will be sent to you asking about your child’s development and their specific difficulties. A questionnaire will also be sent to your child’s school for them to fill in.
Both these questionnaires will need to be sent back 1 week prior to the assessment.
The assessment will take around 3 hours and conducted in the child’s school at a mutually convenient time. If necessary, the assessment may take place over a couple of sessions.
The report will be sent to you within 15 working days and will contain specific recommendations to help your child move forward with their learning.

To book an assessment, you will need to fill in the Booking Form emailed to you, the parent or carer, which must be completed and returned with £35 deposit.

Payment can be made by Apple Pay, BACS or cash.

The remaining balance of £430 + travel expenses (45p per mile) must be made before or at the time of the assessment.
